Cameroon – Times TV apologizes to the MRC: behind the mea culpa

Times TV apologized to the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC) in a statement published on October 20, 2026. It remains unclear whether Joël Nkouemo’s channel acted under pressure or corrected a genuine mistake.

Kemi Badenoch called for the ban on new oil and gas licences to be repealed, while Andy Burnham criticised her party’s handling of the original decision; the government also announced a £2bn fund for renewable and low-carbon projects.
