Hilli Episeyo: Golar claims over CFAF 853 billion generated for Cameroonian state interests in eight years in Kribi

Golar LNG says operation of the Hilli Episeyo floating LNG vessel off Kribi generated more than $1.5 billion in financial flows for interests linked to the Cameroonian state between 2018 and 2026, equivalent to over CFAF 853 billion at the August 13, 2026 exchange rate. The company presented the figures after completing its eight-year contract in Cameroon and repeated them in its 2025 ESG report, published on October 23, 2026. Golar did not break down the revenue categories or identify the recipients, making it impossible to establish precisely how much went to each entity.

The sector generated 87 billion CFA francs in revenue in Togo in 2022, according to the APSAT.
