Five years later, Doumbouya promises to carry Simandou 2040 'to its conclusion'

President Mamadi Doumbouya commemorated the fifth anniversary of the 2021 coup by paying tribute to fallen soldiers. He stated that ethnocentrism is declining in Guinea and reaffirmed his commitment to the Simandou 2040 program, a fifteen-year development plan aimed at transforming the Guinean economy with an investment of over $200 billion. This program aims to increase the GDP to about $152 billion by 2040 and create over 50,000 jobs in the mining sector.
