The UN Security Council noted the agreement presented by the DRC on disarmament, demobilization, and cantonment of FDLR and urged its swift implementation to neutralize these groups. France, which held the presidency until October 1st, emphasized the need to fully implement Resolution 2773, adopted after Goma and Bukavu were occupied by the AFC/M23 rebellion supported by Rwanda. The DRC's foreign minister requested the UN to include enhanced support in MONUSCO's next mandate, which expires in December 2026.
