Uvira: C64 demonstration dispersed, at least 4 people arrested

The Congolese national police dispersed the C64 demonstration in Uvira on September 15, 2026, as members began to gather at the monument of the revolution. Four people, including Guylain Kikwire, federal president of the party Ensemble pour la République, were arrested. The city mayor had banned the demonstration citing the Ebola virus disease, a reason contested by C64 members.
