M. G. Bâ Dies from Injuries After Learning He Tested HIV-Positive

M. G. Bâ, a cabinetmaker, died Saturday at Kolda Regional Hospital after spending three days in the emergency department. According to the report, he inflicted several injuries on himself after learning that he had tested positive for HIV, in an apparent suicide attempt. Neighbors intervened and took him to the hospital, but he died despite receiving treatment. His death has left the Sinthiang neighborhood in shock, and his burial is scheduled for Sunday at Bantaguel Muslim Cemetery.
