State Minister Jacques Fame Ndongo announced that 41% of the state's academic debt, estimated at 15.5 billion FCFA, has been settled, with over 6 billion FCFA already paid. Payments began on October 3, 2025, and include universities such as Bamenda, Buea, and Maroua. Additionally, a special allocation of 16 billion FCFA for the modernization of university research has been fully disbursed, with a payment rate of 82% for the first quarter of 2026.
