The Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak, which began in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has spread to several countries, including Kenya and Nigeria. Dr Mohamed Yakub Janabi, the WHO Regional Director for Africa, has called for heightened vigilance and regional coordination as the outbreak grows more complex. As of October 20, Nigeria had confirmed an imported case in a woman who had recently travelled from Uganda, while Kenya had reported nine confirmed cases, including one death.
