More than 2,100 students at Maria Goretti High School in Bandundu-ville, Kwilu province, took part in a breast cancer prevention and early-detection campaign on October 17, 2026. Organized by the U-Report Bandundu community, the event taught them to recognize warning signs and perform breast self-examinations. Organizers urged students to direct anyone with suspicious symptoms to a qualified health facility and share what they learned with their families. The initiative also aims to break taboos and stigma and reduce the risks associated with late diagnosis.
