China: Former Wuhan Mayor Sentenced to 14 Years for Corruption and Bribery

Zhou Xianwang, former mayor of Wuhan, was convicted of corruption for accepting over 60.5 million yuan in bribes related to contracts and administrative permits from 2003 to 2025. He received a 14-year prison sentence, confiscation of assets, and a fine of 5 million yuan. The trial took place in Shangqiu, following an investigation initiated in July 2025.
