Kenya’s supply chain vulnerable as four countries dominate import bill

In the first half of 2026, China, India, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE accounted for 55.1% of Kenya's imports, highlighting the vulnerability of the country's supply chain amid disruptions on key trade routes due to the Middle East crisis. According to data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the country's import bill grew by 21.9% to Sh1.63 trillion, with these four countries absorbing Sh898.8 billion.
