Red-hot Barry strikes twice as Everton sink Coventry

Everton beat Coventry 3-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Friday, recording a third straight win in all competitions and climbing to fifth in the Premier League. After Yann Gboho put Coventry ahead in the 52nd minute, David Moyes’s side turned the match around with two Thierno Barry goals in five minutes; Barry has now scored 10 times this season. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall added a late goal, while Moyes equalled Harry Catterick’s club record of 592 matches as Everton manager. Coventry manager Frank Lampard complained about two rejected penalty appeals as his 16th-placed side suffered a third defeat in four games.
