Fires in Algeria: Tebboune wants to restore the death penalty in a specific case

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has requested an amendment to the Penal Code to allow the death penalty for individuals convicted of arson in Algeria. This decision follows several deadly fires that have resulted in casualties and injuries. Tebboune instructed the Minister of Justice to prepare the necessary amendments by September 15. The Civil Protection reported numerous fire outbreaks, particularly in the Jijel province.
