FG clarifies how beneficiaries are selected for the N50,000 NERSI relief fund

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction said NERSI beneficiaries are selected from the National Social Register and verified national identity records using poverty and vulnerability criteria. The selection covers all six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, requires no application or registration, and cannot be influenced by individuals or agents. Each beneficiary will receive a non-repayable grant of N50,000 and be notified by SMS from an authorised digital financial service provider. The ministry warned recipients not to share their PIN, OTP or BVN and gave 0700-022-2222 as the helpline for enquiries and complaints.
