Bertoua: Four young men arrested over human bone trafficking

The East Gendarmerie Legion presented the results of two operations in Bertoua that led to the arrest of four young men. Three suspects aged 18 to 22 are suspected of involvement in a case of violating tombs and corpses; a staged transaction involving bones presented as human reportedly led to arrests in Bipondo and Yademe. Investigators are seeking to establish where the bones came from and whether others were involved. In a separate case, a 22-year-old man was arrested in Bertoua 2 with two bundles of second-hand shoes suspected of being stolen from Bertoua’s central market; he had been released from prison on October 1, but that does not establish his responsibility for the alleged new offenses.
