Edo Queens Miss CAF Women’s Champions League After Controversial WAFU-B Final Replay

Nigerian champions Edo Queens lost 3-2 to Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies in a controversial replay of the WAFU-B qualifying final in Cairo on Thursday. CAF had overturned Edo Queens’ original penalty-shootout win on September 5 because the required 30 minutes of extra time had not been played. Mohammed Afishata scored in the 92nd minute to qualify Ampem Darkoa, who will make their second appearance in the competition and play in Group B. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Egypt from November 1 to 15, 2026.

Authorities also intend the sites to serve as spaces for inclusion, community interaction and the development of Senegalese sporting talent.
