Venezuela’s Delcy Rodriguez promises elections at UN, gives no date

Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodriguez announced at the UN General Assembly that the country will hold elections as part of a transition to full democracy, but did not specify a date. She stated that her government has begun political dialogue with opposition sectors to ensure an equitable process. Rodriguez, who assumed power after a surprise US military raid in January that abducted Nicolás Maduro, also said Venezuela is recovering from setbacks this year and assured that institutions will be prepared for inclusive and transparent elections.
