Oil communities demand share of Anambra’s oil wealth

Oil-producing communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State have expressed years of alleged neglect and lack of basic infrastructure. They urged Governor Chukwuma Soludo to make the Anambra State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (ANSOPADEC) fully operational. Despite oil exploration, residents continue to face impassable roads, lack of electricity and potable water, along with environmental issues.
