‘It’s the South’s turn in 2027’: Kwankwaso warns ADC

Rabiu Kwankwaso, vice-presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), urged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) not to nominate a Northern presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. Speaking to journalists at his residence in Kano, he backed NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi and said the South should produce the next president, with the North waiting until 2031. Kwankwaso said a Northern nominee would be unfair and cost the ADC the election, urging the party to choose a Southern candidate in the name of fairness and equity.
