Former Kilifi Land Registrar Ordered to Surrender Ksh426.8M in Unexplained Assets

A former Kilifi land registrar has been ordered to surrender assets worth Ksh426.85 million to the government following a case by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over a discrepancy between his income and wealth. The Nairobi High Court issued the forfeiture order on September 18, finding that the official, his wife, and their companies failed to account for the difference between their assets and legitimate income. The assets include Ksh233.58 million in bank and mobile accounts, 11 properties valued at Ksh177.11 million, and vehicles worth nearly Ksh11.9 million, located in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, and Thika.
