DRC: Ebola outbreak exceeds 6,000 confirmed cases

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Ebola outbreak has reached 6,041 confirmed cases and 2,911 deaths, making it the largest in the country's history. The outbreak is caused by the Bundibugyo strain of the virus, for which there are currently no approved vaccines or treatments. Response teams are deployed in six affected provinces, particularly in Ituri, North Kivu, and Haut-Uele, and the toll may continue to rise in the coming days.
