Magloire Yansunu's lawyers filed an appeal on October 12th with the CRIET Court, requesting his provisional release due to health issues. The defendant, visibly weakened and wearing a mask, appeared in court but did not speak, leaving the decision to the court. The case was adjourned to October 26, 2026, for the court to decide on his release. Yansunu, a senior lawyer, was sentenced in July to 7 years in prison for breach of trust and money laundering related to a dispute over wrongful dismissal.
