Malindi Court Lifts Order Blocking Construction of Ksh 2.2T Dangote Lamu Oil Refinery

The High Court in Malindi has lifted the order that halted the construction of the Ksh 2.2 trillion Dangote Lamu Oil Refinery, allowing the project to proceed. The refinery, covering approximately 7,000 to 10,000 acres including contested villages, was officially launched on September 30, 2026, with completion expected within 40 months and commissioning targeted for 2030.
