Oriire kidnap: Five defendants plead not guilty to terrorism charges

Five men were re-arraigned by the Department of State Services (DSS) for their involvement in the kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Oriire, Oyo State, on May 15. They are accused of being members of the terrorist group Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina fi-Biladis Sudan (ANSARU) and pleaded not guilty to the charges read to them. The Director of Public Prosecutions applied for an immediate trial and for witness protection.
