Lomami: 4 dead in road accident between Luputa and Mwene-Ditu; truck set on fire (provisional toll)

Four people died on the evening of Thursday, October 22, 2026, when a CREC 6 Howo truck overturned in Tshilomba, on the road between Luputa and Mwene-Ditu in Lomami province. The truck was carrying CREC 6 workers to Mwene-Ditu after their workday. A witness said it was traveling at very high speed before the driver lost control; three people died at the scene and a fourth died at a health facility. The truck was reportedly set on fire after the crash, though the circumstances are unknown and the death toll remains provisional.
