Troops thwart bandits' operation, recover weapons in Benue

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke neutralized one suspected bandit and recovered weapons along the Gbise–Igyudu Road in the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State. During a routine patrol on September 2, 2026, troops engaged two armed suspects, resulting in a firefight where one bandit was killed. The forces recovered a pistol, ammunition, and a mobile phone from the scene.
