The US Department of State has listed 50 countries, including Nigeria, in a programme requiring a bond from some applicants for B-1 business or B-2 tourist visas. A consular officer determines during the visa interview whether the bond is $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000. Applicants must submit Form I-352 and use Pay.gov, but paying the bond does not guarantee that a visa will be issued. The requirement applies regardless of where the visa application is submitted.
