Power outages in Kinshasa: subscribers denounce service degradation and demand explanations from SNEL

Many SNEL subscribers in Kinshasa have been reporting ongoing power outages across several neighborhoods, including Bandalungwa, Limete, Lemba, Salongo, Gombe, and Kintambo. Some have experienced outages lasting from two to ten months, leading to loss of stored food, difficulties with heat and mosquitoes, and safety concerns due to darkness. Both prepaid and billed customers are demanding explanations from SNEL regarding the prolonged outages and the reasons behind them, while questioning the billing practices despite the lack of electricity.
