In Moscow, Tshisekedi asks Russia to support UN resolutions demanding the withdrawal of Rwandan forces from the DRC

In Moscow, on the sidelines of the third Russia-Africa summit, Félix Tshisekedi defended diversifying the DRC’s partnerships without aligning with a camp and called for practical cooperation on security and development. He asked Russia to support the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions 2773 and 2808, including ending hostilities, withdrawing M23 and Rwandan forces from Congolese territory, and ending support for armed groups. Tshisekedi reaffirmed his preference for diplomatic efforts through the Washington and Doha processes, alongside African Union mediation, and called for verifiable implementation of diplomatic progress. He also listed energy, infrastructure, local mineral processing, food security and fertilizer as DRC economic priorities.
