Togo’s government plans 2,684 billion CFA franc budget for 2027, down 2.5%

Togo’s government adopted a draft 2027 budget of 2,684.1 billion CFA francs on October 22, down 2.5% from the initial 2026 budget amid global economic uncertainty and tighter financing conditions. The proposal allocates 490 billion CFA francs to investments under the 2026–2031 government roadmap, across the “Protect,” “Transform” and “Unite” priorities, as well as cross-cutting programs. The government also revised the 2026 budget to 2,744.2 billion CFA francs and forecast a deficit of 247.6 billion CFA francs, or 3.4% of GDP. Parliament must still examine and adopt the 2027 budget.
