2027: Tinubu urges youths to use their voter cards to defeat tyranny

During a visit to Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu urged youths to obtain their permanent voter cards (PVCs) and vote for the APC in the 2027 elections. He promised support for education, skills training and jobs, and said he had approved international airport status for Ibom Airport as well as the Ibom Deepsea Port. Tinubu praised Governor Umo Eno and said the port would bring economic benefits and development to the state and Nigeria. He also ceremonially inaugurated the new Ibom International Airport terminal.

2027: ADC appeals Lifu judgment, asks INEC to suspend action

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appealed the Federal High Court judgment delivered on November 5, 2026, in favour of Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe. In a letter dated November 6 to the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the party asked the commission to suspend action based on the ruling while the appeal is determined. The ADC also filed a motion at the Federal High Court seeking a stay of execution and sent INEC copies of its notice of appeal and motion. The case, numbered FHC/ABJ/CS/1619/2025, is between Nafiu Bala Gombe and the ADC and four other defendants.

2027: ADC-PCC vows to continue campaigns despite leadership crisis

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council says its activities and mobilisation for the 2027 elections will continue despite the party’s leadership dispute. Following the Federal High Court judgment on November 5, the party filed an appeal and sought a stay of execution in the case involving Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe. Strategic Communications Director Phrank Shaibu said INEC was notified on November 6 and urged it to take no action concerning the party’s leadership while the legal challenge is pending. Shaibu urged members and supporters to remain confident, saying the ADC would continue campaigning and pursue all lawful avenues to defend its rights.
