ADAMU: Like Father, Amos, Like Son, Samson

Samson Adamu has been confirmed as secretary general of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), becoming the first Nigerian to hold the position since the organisation was founded in 1957. He studied business management and computer science at the American University of Paris, completed the FIFA Master programme and worked at Kinetic Sport Management before joining CAF in 2018. He became acting secretary general on March 29, 2026, after Véron Mosengo-Omba’s departure. The article also notes his role in communications preceding CAF’s October 29, 2026 decision to retain the Africa Cup of Nations’ two-year cycle.
