N50,000 NERSI: Check if your area is covered by federal relief payment

The federal government says its NERSI programme provides a N50,000 grant to vulnerable households across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, covering all six geopolitical zones. Recipients are selected using poverty and vulnerability criteria from the National Social Register and verified identity records; payments are grants with no deductions and will be made in phases. Selected beneficiaries will receive a text from one of five approved providers—ALAT, MoMo PSB, NairaGram, OPay or Moniepoint—with a USSD code to accept the grant. The ministry warns people about scammers and says no official will ask for a PIN, OTP or BVN.
