In a video published on November 7, Claudy Siar, an aide to Beninese President Romuald Wadagni, denounced the expression “of immigrant descent,” calling it probably “the most racist” expression in use today. He argues that colonial and enslaving attitudes remain embedded in people’s minds and criticizes an education system that fails to make all pupils feel fully French. Siar recalled his actions against racism, including defending Aya Nakamura in 2024, and said delinquency stems from social factors rather than origin. He expressed solidarity with those seeking “a country that respects all its children.”
