Kenya’s aviation strike is over, but the dispute is far from settled

After two days of strike, aviation workers in Kenya were instructed to return to work on September 1 following a return-to-work agreement negotiated among government officials, union leaders, and aviation executives. However, the grievances that triggered the strike, including disputes over collective bargaining agreements and salary negotiations, remain unresolved and are back on the negotiating table. The strike disrupted operations at several airports, including Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
