DRC: Kinshasa wants to control strategic data from its subsoil

The Democratic Republic of Congo aims to use its geological data as a new tool for mining sovereignty. A $180 million contract has been signed with the Spanish company Xcalibur to map over 700,000 square kilometers. Currently, only 20% of the territory has been systematically explored, despite significant reserves of mineral resources.
