Asian Games 2026: Dates, venues, sports and a growing accommodation crisis

The 2026 Asian Games will take place in Japan's Aichi Prefecture and the city of Nagoya from September 19 to October 4. Over 11,000 athletes from 45 countries will compete in this multisport event, featuring 43 sports and 71 disciplines, with six making their debut: surfing, freestyle BMX, mixed martial arts, padel, teqball, and virtual taekwondo. Football and basketball competitions have already begun.
