Masisi: Four health facilities destroyed by war in the Ufamandu 1st groupement, leaving displaced residents without medical care

In the Ufamandu 1st groupement in Masisi territory, North Kivu, the Ufamandu, Miano and Nyandeki health centres and the Katuunda referral health centre were destroyed amid fighting between the FRN rebels and the FARDC, backed by the Wazalendo. A medical source from the Katoyi health zone said bombardments damaged the facilities after unidentified people looted their medicines. Residents have fled into the forest and struggle to obtain medical care; children, pregnant women and older people face particular risks of complications and death.
