COP31: Côte d’Ivoire Seeks to Mobilize CFAF 265 Billion and Promote Its National Development Plan Priorities in Antalya

Côte d’Ivoire aims to mobilize CFAF 265 billion over five years through the pilot phase of the African Pact for Climate and Ecological Transition (PACTE), which will be launched at COP31 in Antalya from November 9 to 20, 2026. Environment and Ecological Transition Minister Abou Bamba presented the country’s ambitions in Abidjan on November 2, saying the pilot phase will benefit four to seven African countries and direct at least 78% of mobilized funds to local communities. The Ivorian delegation, led by Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, will also promote priorities in the 2026–2030 National Development Plan and seek to strengthen resilience to flooding and coastal erosion.
