LASTMA inducts 100 volunteers to tackle Yuletide traffic

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) inducted more than 100 volunteers into its LASTMA Mayors network to help manage expected congestion during the Yuletide and “Detty December” festivities. General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki said the community ambassadors would support public-awareness campaigns and field operations while encouraging voluntary compliance with traffic rules. He urged Christian and Muslim leaders to share road-safety messages and warned motorists against driving against traffic, speeding, reckless overtaking and improper parking. LASTMA said it would sustain surveillance and strategically deploy officers along key routes throughout the holiday season.
