DRC/Ebola: the government approves the new preparedness and response plan

The Congolese Minister of Public Health signed a new multisectoral « One Health » plan for Ebola virus disease of the Bundibungyo strain, valid for 180 days. This plan provides a framework for prevention and response efforts, with a decreasing trend of cases in most affected provinces except North Kivu. The DRC has also announced the phased rollout of free healthcare in Ituri, starting with Bunia and Rwampara, pending medication availability. Kinshasa, considered a risk zone, will strengthen its preparedness measures, including engaging religious leaders to raise awareness among the population.
