‘We’ve lost everything’ — Akwa Ibom indigenes in South Africa appeal to Eno

The Akwa Ibom Indigenes Organisation in South Africa, AKIOSA, has appealed to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for emergency financial assistance for families affected by xenophobic violence. Dr Akaninyene F. Willie, president of the organization, stated that the situation has turned into a humanitarian crisis, with many families displaced and in need of temporary accommodation and basic means of survival. AKIOSA also requested the establishment of an emergency fund to provide immediate relief to affected families.
