Kinshasa: Selembao’s Ngobila neighborhood renamed Tshimbayi Michel

In Selembao, Mayor Matthias Womumu Yanyi decided to rename Ngobila, a neighborhood created from the subdivision of Herady, as Tshimbayi Michel. The decision was made public on October 24, 2026, during the inauguration of a building constructed and equipped by local notable Tshimbayi Michel and handed over to the municipality. The building will house the mayor’s secondary office, the neighborhood office and a Congolese National Police substation. The mayor described it as a public-service facility intended to bring local administration closer to residents.
