Igbo presidency: South-East cannot keep playing opposition politics, Uzodimma says

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma urged South-East leaders to abandon opposition politics and negotiate with the federal government to advance the region’s interests. Speaking at a meeting of South-East stakeholders in Owerri on Friday, he called for an end to local rivalries and for bold decisions. He asked stakeholders to prepare a clear, evidence-based list of the region’s needs to present to the president. Uzodimma said leaders from other regions had met with the president while the South-East continued to complain of marginalisation.
