Modou Ngom Sentenced in the US: What Assistance Does Our Country Provide to Its Citizens? (Boubacar Séye)

Modou Ngom has been sentenced to 22 years and six months in prison in the United States. Horizon Sans Frontières (HSF) acknowledged the ruling and expressed sympathy for the American family bereaved by the deaths of three of its members, while urging that Ngom and his family not be left alone to face the consequences of the case. The organization called on Senegalese authorities to strengthen his consular support and, in coordination with his lawyers, facilitate a review of any appeals available under US law. HSF also called for a national unit to coordinate assistance for Senegalese citizens detained abroad and guide their families.
