Iran-GCC summit: What’s behind the meeting, why is Bahrain not attending?

Iran announced that a meeting between Iraq and Gulf countries will be held in Oman to discuss the Strait of Hormuz, currently under Iranian blockade. Bahrain, a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, has opted not to participate due to Iranian attacks it has faced since the onset of the US-Israel war on Iran. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the meeting aims to strengthen regional security without outside intervention.
