The Palestinian Authority denounces the refusal of American visas to its leaders

The Palestinian Authority condemned the United States' refusal to issue visas to President Mahmoud Abbas and several Palestinian officials ahead of the United Nations General Assembly. Palestinian Deputy Minister of Political Affairs, Omar Awadallah, called this decision unacceptable and stated that it violates the U.S. obligations as the host country of the UN. If Mahmoud Abbas cannot travel to New York, the Palestinians plan to request that he address the assembly via videoconference.
