In Kikwit, in Kwilu Province, rehabilitation of Boulevard Wazabanga is complete, and traffic is expected to resume by the end of November after seven months of disruption caused by erosion. Work to fill the one-kilometre ravine and build drainage collectors is ongoing; Nzinda commune mayor Serge Musila says only the official reopening ceremony remains. Drainage channels are intended to direct water to the Nzinda River and prevent problems during rain. Anti-erosion work is also underway on Kanzombi Road, which connects a Kikwit neighborhood with nearby villages in Bulungu Territory.
