Trump met Russian envoy after he appeared with Melania Trump and Ukrainians

Donald Trump said a Russia-Ukraine agreement could be near after meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, at the White House. He described a potentially major agreement that could involve all of Europe but gave no details of his conversation with Dmitriev and said he had not met the Ukrainian delegation. The meeting followed a diplomatic gathering hosted by First Lady Melania Trump, bringing Russian and Ukrainian representatives together after a six-day local truce in Oleshky. The ceasefire, which ran from October 27 to November 1, enabled nearly 800 civilians to be evacuated and critical food and medical supplies to be delivered.
