Russia says it helped to repel Niger attempted coup

Russia stated that its forces helped repel an attempted coup in Niger that occurred on Saturday morning in Niamey. Nigerien authorities announced that the rebellion had been contained with the assistance of servicemen from the African Corps of the Russian Ministry of Defence. The government also reported a return to normal commercial activities in the country, while supporters gathered to back President Tiani.
